This well-established course offers a comprehensive introduction to the clinical features of several major neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and spinocerebellar ataxias. International experts will explore the genetic foundations of these conditions and examine the molecular mechanisms driving new therapeutic developments. Sessions will also showcase genomic and molecular tools, cellular models, and the use of AI and computational approaches currently shaping research in neurodegeneration.
Designed to support the development of your research, the programme blends expert lectures with panel discussions, interactive sessions, and quizzes. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their own work through posters and short pitches, receiving valuable feedback from leaders in the field. The course also includes plenty of informal networking opportunities, helping participants connect with peers and mentors in an engaging, face-to-face setting.
Aimed at early-career scientists and researchers, this course is ideal for those working in neurodegeneration, neurogenetics, or translational neuroscience. Applications are encouraged from PhD students, clinical scientists in training, and researchers in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Postdoctoral fellows and those newly entering the neurodegeneration field are also welcome to apply.
