The BSI Midlands Immunology Group is hosting its annual symposium at the Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre in Birmingham. This meeting will feature presentations from leading clinical and academic immunologists based in the Midlands, alongside dedicated networking opportunities designed to encourage and foster collaborations. The event’s core objective is to celebrate the unique opportunities available within the Midlands region for forming productive partnerships, thereby facilitating the crucial translation of foundational immunology research into clinical applications.
The comprehensive program will commence with registration and opening remarks, leading into sessions focused on “Clinical immunology in the Midlands: History and capabilities,” with invited speakers such as Dr. Aarnoud Huissoon and Professor Alex Richter. Subsequent discussions will delve into “Dissecting immunological mechanisms using novel models,” including insights from Dr. Sarah Dimeloe and selected abstract presentations. The afternoon session, “Leveraging unique patient populations to learn fundamental immunology,” will feature Professor Grant Stewart and Professor Martin Dyer, among others. Throughout the day, attendees will benefit from sponsor talks, refreshment breaks, and a dedicated lunch period for poster viewing and exhibition engagement, culminating in closing remarks and a networking reception. This structure ensures a rich exchange of the latest research methods and results, spanning aspects from basic science to clinical applications.
